By integrating employer-driven training programs into university curriculums and establishing skill centers in collaboration with the Indian government’s National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Emversity is paving the way for more effective job training.

Founded two years ago, Emversity has already partnered with 23 universities across over 40 campuses, concentrating on the “grey-collar” workforce. To date, Emversity has successfully trained around 4,500 individuals and facilitated job placements for 800 candidates. “I began conversing with learners who had invested years and significant financial resources into their education,” Sinha shared. He noted that a widening gap exists between academic preparation and real-world job requirements, especially due to the impact of automation in workplaces.

While AI can streamline various administrative tasks—such as managing patient records—it cannot replace the essential human touch required in direct patient care. “Even with technological advancements, the demand for nurses in critical care settings remains,” Sinha emphasized.

Collaborative Training Solutions

Emversity collaborates closely with prominent employers like Fortis Healthcare and Taj Hotels to co-create role-specific training modules seamlessly integrated into degree programs. This partnership model means that Emversity derives revenue primarily from educational institutions and short-term certification programs rather than directly from employers.

Operating with 80% gross margin, Emversity maintains impressive customer acquisition costs under 10% of total revenue, primarily through organic outreach and without relying heavily on performance marketing.

Expanding Horizons

With these fresh investments, Emversity aims to expand its presence to over 200 locations in the next two years, with a keen focus on healthcare and hospitality, while also venturing into sectors such as engineering and manufacturing. Plans are underway to design specialized training programs in collaboration with one of the leading engineering firms in India.

To ensure consistent quality across its various campuses, Emversity combines employer-led curriculum design with practical training infrastructure, including simulation labs specifically for clinical roles.

While Emversity’s primary focus remains on building talent pipelines for domestic employers, Sinha notes the potential to address international workforce demands, particularly in healthcare sectors facing significant shortages due to aging populations in regions like Japan and Germany.

Currently, Emversity employs about 700 people, with 200 to 250 acting as trainers spread across its campus network, reinforcing their commitment to high-quality education and skill development.
